My name is Sara Björkqvist, I’m born and raised in Västerås, Sweden. I see myself as an artist, not only as a photographer but a painting artist to. My interest for art began when I was a kid. I´ve been drawing as long as I can remember. I´ve been in art classes since the 4th grade and in high school I studied art and shape at Rudbeckianska gymnasiet in Västerås, Sweden.
I´ve been interested in photography since I was 14 years old. And during the first year of high school I had my first photography class and that’s what really set med off. Since then I’ve been taking pictures as often as a can and developed more and more. As a project in high school I painted some of my photographs and I had an exhibition in April 2009.
During 2009/2010 I studied a nature photography class at Ålands folkhögskola in Finland. At the end of the class, we had to do a project which I choose to do in India and a project I call “Animals in the human world”
Right now I’ve been working as a Photographer for about a year and a half and soon (November 6th) I will take ”the journey of my life” and travel around the world, photographing with my friend Linda Landquist. I will write posts as often as I can here on my own page, but you may also check out mine and Linda’s ”traveling diary” were we will right specifically about our trip!
