About me

My name is Sara Björkqvist, I’m born and raised in Västerås, Sweden. I see myself as an artist, not only as a photographer but a painting artist to. My interest for art began when I was a kid. I´ve been drawing as long as I can remember. I´ve been in art classes since the 4^th grade and in high school I studied art and shape at Rudbeckianska gymnasiet in Västerås, Sweden.

I´ve been interested in photography since I was 14 years old. And during the first year of high school I had my first photography class and that’s what really set med off. Since then I’ve been taking pictures as often as a can and developed more and more. As a project in high school I painted some of my photographs and I had an exhibition in April 2009.

During 2009/2010 I studied a nature photography class at Ålands folkhögskola in Finland. At the end of the class, we had to do a project which I choose to do in India and a project I call “Animals in the human world”

From november 2011 to may 2012 me and my friend Linda Landquist were on our greatest adventure so far! We traveld around the world for 6 months and visited a total of 11 countries!
